OSC Travel Soccer Tryouts for 2023-24
Do you have a young soccer player in your family that loves the game? Would they like to play at a higher level than Rec Soccer?
We’d love to see them on Sunday, October 22!
OSC is holding travel soccer tryouts for 2023-24 at Wright National Soccer Campus. We use the following age brackets from US Soccer based on birth year:
- U8 - 2016 and younger
- U10 - 2015, 2014
- U12 - 2013, 2012
- U14 - 2011, 2010
- U16 - 2009, 2008
- U19 - 2007, 2006, 2005
Please keep in mind our “tryouts” are more of an open team practice than a competitive tryout. They give families a chance to see if OSC is a good fit for their player, and it gives Club the opportunity to gauge interest. Travel soccer requires a higher commitment from players and families than rec soccer.
Tryout times:
- U8 - 10am - 12pm
- U10 - 10am - 12pm
- U12 - 10am - 12pm
- U14 - 12:30pm - 2:30pm
- U16 - 12:30pm - 2:30pm
- U19 - 12:30pm - 2:30pm
Registration ahead of tryouts is strongly recommended, but not required, by visiting Registration.
Returning players should register as soon as possible. Rosters can fill up very quickly and spots cannot be guaranteed.
What is travel soccer?
The OSC Travel Program is for those players who are interested in playing at a higher level than rec soccer. The purpose of travel soccer is to further develop individual skills, as well as teamwork, through training sessions and games against clubs of similar caliber.
All teams typically participate in a state sanctioned league in the spring. These leagues are scheduled with 4-5 away and 4-5 home games. Coaches and families will decide if a team will enter any indoor/outdoor tournaments or any indoor leagues. These optional tournaments and indoor leagues are an additional cost beyond the OSC registration cost and are at the discretion of the coach.
Travel soccer is generally considered to be an 8-10 month (Nov-June) commitment for the child and parent.
